The WWE Summerslam 2025 meant a dream match for ever when cm punk fought with Gunther for the most prestigious RAW title, World Heavyweight Championship.

Punk earned the right to face the “General of the Ring” at the WWE Summer Stage by won a 5-Man Gauntlets on RAW a few weeks ago and survived some of the best stars of the red brand, included Bron Breakker and Jey Uso. When Gunther Finully moved since his long -term USO dispute, he and Punk met in a significantly expected match at MetLife stadium.

Despite the reports that Seth Rollins returned from his Hiatus injury to money in his money in a bank briefcase, in New Jersey was not a sign of a “visionary”. Instead, Gunther and Punk fought in an immediate classic for the Coveteed World Heavyweight title.

At WWE Summerslam 2025 cm Punk, Punk achieved something he hadn’t had in more than ten years: he became a world champion.

The beloved babyification fought it with Gunther in a match that was, as you could a hub, absolutely fantastic. Some of the key moments in the match were:

• After a slow start controlled by Gunther Punk, GTS almost hit, but Gunther curled out and almost locked in a sleeper before cutting off Gunthera with a big shoe.
• Gunther almost set off punk out of the ring with a massive chop, but pulled him back to the ring in an effort to enact another punishment.
• After a slightly overcast pull, which looked like an attempt at Spinebuster from Punk, Gunther locked the sharpshooter. Punk, however, faced the figure of Four Leglock before turning into a modified sharpshooter, but Gunther got to the ropes.
• Punk and Gunther joined the exchange of strikes, with the crowd firmly behind the punk with the loud choir “Yays”. Punk got Gunther with a kick on the heel and then cameback. He was for a running knee in the corner, but Gunther faced a powerbomb for two sum.
• Punk tried to lock the triangular choke, but couldn’t lock it completely. In the end, Gunther killed Punk from the upper rope and hit the top of the upper rope for two. Frustrated Gunther hit a punk with two Lariats, and then Punk faced an attempt at GTS. Gunther twisted and hit another powerbomb.
• Gunther hit a running Dropkick and another powerbomb for two when the crowd went crazy. Gunther began to look more and more frustrated.
• On the outside of the ring, Gunther stood on the notification table and played on the crowd. This allowed Punk to run Gunther’s legs and send him to hit the notification table to equalize the playground after Gunther dominated most of the match at this point. Gunther was poorly opened on the announced table in the fall.
• The bloody Gunther got into the ring, followed by punk, dropping on to Gunther’s strokes, running knee, linen cords and a drop of the upper rope.
• Punk went to GTS, but Gunther became sleep when the crowd went Bonkers. Punk stood on his feet and lifted Gunthera for GTS. He nailed it, but Gunther somehow stayed on his feet. Punk again picked up Gunthera and hit the second GTS. Then he pinned Gunther to 1-2-3.

On one occasion, it seemed that Gunther gave punk another awning when the “voice did not sound” tried to win this elusive World WWE Championship. But with the crowd firmly in its corner, Punk managed to fire Gunthera with the second GTS for victory and recently as the best dog on the red trail.

The victory was the first victory of the world title in WWE, because in 2011 won the WWE Championship and held it until January 2013. But just minutes after winning the epic match, the music intervention of Seth Rollins and he came to spoil the party.

Rollins, who joined the knee strut, made the entrance, removed the knee orthosis, sprinkled on the ring, attacked a punk with money in a bank briefcase, and the officials reimburse their shots of the world title. One Stomp later and Rollins is a new world -class world champion.

When we head to Summerslam, there were questions about whether Rollins’s injuries were legitimate and when his return could take place. On Saturday, Summerslam received their answer when Rollins became a heavyweight world champion and perhaps more important, preventing punk from leaving Metlife as a champion.

Rollins promised again and again that he would not allow Punk to become a long -distance world champion, and lived in New Jersey until this promise. Well, at least after the punk’s five -minute “government”.

Punk’s big victory at the Summerslam 2025 received a rough reaction from the crowd Metlife, partly thanks to the spectacular match against Gunther. But as Rollins and Punk have remained in conflict in the last two years, the internship is again ready for Punk and Rollins to restore their epic rivalry, only this time with the largest RAW price on the line.
