WWE Raw Results December 8, 2025: The Masked Man returns with 2 more sneak attacks

MAIN DATA

  • Gunther opened Raw by announcing that he would make John Cena tap out on Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13
  • The Masked Man returned to attack Rey Mysterio, costing him a match against Finn Bálor
  • AJ Styles and Dragon Lee retained the WWE World Tag Team Championship over the War Raiders.

Gunther trash talk and the return of the masked man from Survivor Series. Those were the two biggest takeaways from tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

Gunther set his goal before the upcoming match John Cena in the Main Event on Saturday night, December 13th in Washington, DC Ring General will attempt to send the GOAT to a loss. At the opening of the show Monday night in Kansas City, Gunther made his intentions clear. He doesn’t just want to beat Cena. Gunther plans to make Cena tap.

Gunther set up another finishing maneuver – the STF look – and the story builds to the former World Heavyweight Champion using it to get Cena to submit. Would WWE really allow Cena to end up losing by submission? That’s exactly what WWE hopes to make us think. Here’s a breakdown of everything that happened on Raw.

WWE Raw Results – December 8, 2025

  • WWE World Tag Team Championship: AJ Styles & Dragon Lee (c) def. The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar)
  • Singles match: Finn Bálor vs. Rey Mysterio (Didn’t happen. Mysterio attacked by Logan Paul and Mystery Man before the match).
  • Singles match: Roxanne Perez def. Lyra Valkyrie
  • Singles match: IYO SKY def. Kairi San
  • Singles match: Logan Paul def. LA Knight

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee Retain

The tag team title match delivered exactly what you’d expect from these four. The War Raiders soon crush the Styles, using their size and strength to isolate the Phenomenal. Dragon Lee provided the hot tag late and brought the momentum back.

The end came when Styles hit the Phenomenal Forearm on Ivar to secure the final victory. Styles and Dragon Lee have new challengers. The Usos came out after the match and made their intentions clear.

If it doesn’t set up a Jey Uso move, it doesn’t make sense. Jimmy’s clumsy promo seemed to piss me off, but we’ll see. The New Day was also on the horizon, so it looks like we could be seeing a massive tag team match between all six men soon.

The masked man stands Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio vs. Finn Bálor was positioned as the next chapter in the LWO vs. Judgment Day. Rey has been laser-focused on getting to his son Dominic and the Intercontinental Championship, and a win over Bálor would keep that momentum going.

That didn’t happen.

The Masked Man – the same one who attacked CM Punk at Survivor Series – struck again before the match began. The attack started with Logan Paul, who has had beef with Mysterio since the legend slapped him last week.

Here’s a look at the segment.

The mystery continues, but the clues are piling up. Austin’s theory remains the prime suspect. The build has been slow and deliberate, but at some point WWE has to pull the trigger on the reveal. Whether that happens before or after Saturday night’s Main Event is anyone’s guess.

Roxanne Perez gets the win

Roxanne Perez and Lyra Valkyria put on a competitive match that showcased the next wave of female talent on Raw. The two had been through NXT together and knew each other’s tendencies, leading to a close and well-paced match.

Roxanne won after some outside chaos and distraction. The conclusion created friction between Lyra and her ally Bayley, which could become a storyline worth watching. For now, this gives Judgment Day momentum in the women’s division.

IYO SKY Pins Kairi Sane

IYO SKY pinned Women’s Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane after a German suplex and Over the Moonsault. This was one of the standout matches of the night from a purely ring perspective.

The win puts IYO in line for a future title shot and plants the seeds of friction between the Kabuki Warriors. Whether or not WWE pulls the trigger on that tension remains to be seen, but if they want to, the story is here.

Stephanie Vaquer talks about what’s next

Stephanie Vaquer cut a backstage promo following her successful title defense at Survivor Series. La Primera reacted to the result of Roxanne vs. Lyra and positioned herself as ready for anyone heading into the next round of premium live events.

With Liv Morgan lurking and the women’s division stacking up with credible challengers, Vaquero’s dance card should fill up quickly.

Raquel Rodriguez smoked Nikki Bella with a sneak attack. I like it because it blurs the lines between heels and faces. It’s great when that happens.

The mysterious man has double duty

Aided by the return of the Masked Man for his second attack of the night, Logan Paul defeated LA Knight. Masked Man hits a Curb Stomp on LA Knight on the announcer’s table.

When it was all over, Bron Breaker took the mic and called out CM Punk. Bron even said he would marry Punk’s wife.

The rest of Vision attacked Knight after the match while Megsatar continued to be destroyed physically and through WWE booking. Maybe it’s the downs before the ups, but it’s been a rough couple of weeks for Knight. The stomping spilled backstage where Bronson Reed hit a Tsunami on Knight on the roof of the car.

The Greatest Fallout

When will Theory be revealed as the Masked Man? Will Cena actually appear on SmackDown — or even NXT — this week before Saturday Night’s Main Event? We’ll see, but the GOAT finale is set to be epic.
